Early workshop members included actor Al Pacino and Gerome Ragni, co-author of Hair. We are perhaps best known for our Annual John Lennon Tribute charity concert, now in its 46th year. TW’s charitable mission is to serves communities in need through free workshops in the creative arts and mindfulness.
Who We Serve
We currently serve families impacted by cancer and children in public elementary schools. We have also provided programs for teens with Down syndrome and youth in crisis.
Programs
Through our decade-long partnership with the Red Door Community and other regional cancer support organizations, TW provides 200+ free workshops annually — in songwriting, the visual arts, meditation and much more — to children and adults impacted by cancer. Since 2020, we have provided over 1,500 workshops for the cancer community.
In June the of 2021, with the warm support of Yoko Ono, TW launched the John Lennon Real Love Project for public schools. After learning about John Lennon’s life and music, students write original lyrics to “Real Love” and record a new version of the song with John Lennon’s original vocal and piano track. To date we have been to 35 schools.
