The John Lennon Real Love Project
Comes to Ayer, MA

The week of December 6, 2021, the John Lennon Real Love Project (JLRLP) came to Page Hilltop School in Ayer, MA.

Under the guidance of program leaders Beth and Scott Bierko, 5th-grade students wrote new lyrics to John Lennon’s “Real Love,” one of which recalled his most famous song:

Dream are where our hearts can grow
Imagine and we’ll make it so
Seems like all we are doing
Is searching for love

The video of the song includes such student affirmations as, “It’s cool to be kind,” “Respect spoken here,” and “Stay positive.”

“This was a wonderful project for all of our students as they learned about John Lennon and the Beatles prior to collaborating with Beth and Scott,” said school Principal, Fred Deppe. “The students also enjoyed learning how to produce a music video and they benefited from being able being able to share their own thoughts for lyrics revisions.”

Theatre Within provides the John Lennon Real Love Project to public elementary schools for free.
