Vice President, Strategic Planning

David has joined Theatre Within as its Vice President of Strategy. In that role, he uses his knowledge and experience to ensure sustainability of the Theatre Within mission.  He looks forward to working with the board and staff at TW to continue the legacy of John Lennon by expanding the programs and people served by Theatre Within.

David Ping has had a successful 45 year career as a management consultant and hospital executive. He was the managing partner of a health care consulting firm, developing strategic plans for Large academic medical centers and health systems.  He was the Chief Strategy Officer for a large health care system in the mid-Hudson Valley, expanding services to underserved communities, ensuring that primary care would be available locally by starting a medical group, and triploing the size of the organization.   After his retirement in 2017, he founded The David Ping Group, with the idea of providing meaningful work for meaningful clients. He has assisted over 50 non-profits to better meet their mission and become more sustainable in that time.  HIs clients range in size from $300,000 to $70,000,000 and focus on social services, child welfare and services, behavioral health, and helping communities in need.  In addition to providing strategies for his clients, he also helps implement those plans, providing additional resources that the organizations do not have access to.  He also assists his clients with board capacity development, helping educate the barods as to their roles and to source new board members.

Dave and his wife Cyndie have lived in Rhinebeck, NY since 2005, where they raised their three children.
