The John Lennon Real Love Project 

Launched in 2014, with the warm support of Yoko Ono, at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx, the John Lennon Real Love Project (JLRLP) is a visionary songwriting workshop for communities in need. 

Since 2015, Theatre Within has provided the JLRLP to children and adults impacted by cancer through the Red Door Community and other regional cancer support organizations. children and adults impacted by cancer

In the spring of 2021, Theatre Within launched the JLRLP for public elementary and middle schools. In this life-affirming program, students write original lyrics to “Real Love” and record a new version of the song accompanied by John Lennon’s original vocal and piano track.   To date, Theatre Within has provided 35 public schools programs.
